FAQ

RUNNING TOURS BASIC INFO

-What exactly are Krakow Running Tours?
It's a 21st century approach to sightseeing. A combination of jogging and sightseeing allows you to see more than on a typical walking tour and in the meanwhile burn off nasty calories. We run at a very comfortable, conversational pace suitable for runners of all levels and there are also some stops on the way, so no worries -our tours are not a race across the city :) We operate in English and Polish.
-Do your tours operate throughout the whole year?
Yes, Krakow Running Tours operate all year round, excluding some Public Holidays. Please check in advance availability for your chosen date.
-Do we stop at attractions during the running tour?
Yes, we make short stops at the main attractions where the guide will share with you some interesting information and anecdotes about the sights and Polish history and culture.
-What is the tour pace?
Generally our running tours are @ 6-7min/km (9:40-11:16min/mile; 8,5-10km/h) with some stops on the way to make sure everyone is able to keep up with the group and hear all the information. If you wish, the pace can be set @ 5min/km (8min/mile; 12km/h). We always stop at interesting sights to give you some information.
-What does the  Private Running Tour look like?
It is organized only for you or your group on the agreed date and time. We offer a choice of standard routes presented on our website with set prices depending on the number of people, but we can also customize a unique tour just for you. We guarantee 1 running guide for every 8 participants.

BOOKING PROCEDURE

-How can I book and pay?
Just choose the tour you would like to take part in and send us a booking form to check availability. We will confirm availability and send you a link to the online payment website (with credit or debit cards via paypal or dotpay online payments system). After receipt of the payment, you will get a confirmation e-mail with all the details of your tour and other useful information. For last minute bookings, payment can be made in cash (EUR or Polish Zloty) at the meeting point before the start of the tour.
-What is the booking deadline?
As there are no exact dates and times for these tours, we always do our best to accommodate you whenever is most suitable for you, but please note that we are a small company and especially during the high season we can be fully booked, so the earlier the better.
-What is your refund/cancellation policy?
You can cancel your tour without any costs up to 72hrs (3days) before the run start; all the cancellations made later are not subject to any refund. We try to be as flexible as possible, though, so you can also reschedule your tour cost free via e-mail at least 72 hours before your run is scheduled; rescheduling less than 72hrs before the run is subject to a surcharge of 30% of the value of your reservation.

MEETING, TOUR START POINT

How will I identify the guide? Where does the tour start? Where do we meet the guide?
Our guide, waiting for you at tour start point or at hotel lobby, is always wearing a Krakow Running Tours T-shirt. You will also receive our guide’s mobile number and he will be given your mobile numbers as well.
There are 3 options of meeting:
1) Start point - you come to the standard meeting point for the tour you booked (this point is clearly presented on our website)
2) If you stay close to the start point (10-15min walk) - we can arrange a meeting with our guide at your hotel. This service is free of charge.
3) If your hotel is located further - we can book a taxi for you for a nominal fee (max 10EUR for a ride)  which will take you to the tour start point, where you meet our guide.
Details of the meeting will be arranged via e-mail.
- What if I'm late for my run?
Our guide (or taxi) can wait for you max 15min at your hotel or at the meeting point. But of course since this is a private tour we try to be as flexible as our time allows us, so please call the guide in such a case.

OTHER TYPICAL QUESTIONS

- Are you licensed tour guides? Who are your guides?
We are not typical, licensed guides. We are a part of the famous local Crazy Guides (see more at www.crazyguides.com). We are local runners passionate about running and our city. Besides standard historical and cultural facts, we'll give you little gems of information that you won’t find in a guide book.
-What if the weather is bad?
Hey, come on, aren't you in love with running? We run whatever the weather is, despite extreme or dangerous situations our tours go ahead, rain or shine. If a tour had to be cancelled, we would email or call you as soon as possible and refund you or reschedule the tour.
-What to bring/wear?
Not much, you need a pair of running shoes, suitable clothing (check the weather in advance). Our guides carry small backpacks, where you can put your keys, a small wallet etc. but space is limited so please bring no more than the essentials.
- What if I get thirsty while running?
We don't carry water, so if the length of the run obliges you to drink it's good if you carry a small bottle with yourself. There are also a lot of small shops along the route where you can buy something to drink.
-When will I receive my photos?
Usually we e-mail pictures taken on the run up to 48hrs.

SAFETY, DISCLAIMER

- Do I need to sign a disclaimer?
Yes, during your online sign-in procedure, you agree to our terms & conditions (disclaimer). For telephone bookings, you will be required to sign a disclaimer form at the start.
-What about the safety of your runs?
We take safety procedures very seriously. Our routes cover mostly pedestrian zones, and for crossing the streets we use only official zebra crossings. Our guides are experienced joggers who will adjust the running speed to your physical condition and run at your conversational pace. However, we of course cannot take responsibility for your physical condition. If incidents should take place, our guides always carry a mobile phone for calling upon emergency assistance if needed.
- What is the minimum age?
You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in our tours. Exceptionally, teenagers may participate in our Private Tours if they are experienced runners accompanied by a parent who signs a disclaimer.
